How do I add a task list to a shift?

Step-by-step instructions to create a specific "to-do" list for your workers.

Managing care quality means ensuring every worker knows exactly what needs to be done during their shift. Whether it is specific clinical tasks or general care instructions, you can add a task list to shifts in Platform for Care to provide clear guidance. This article explains how to set up these checklists for individual, group, or accommodation services.

Adding Tasks via Shift Templates

The most efficient way to manage recurring worker tasks is by adding them to your Service Roster Templates. When a shift is generated from a template, these notes and instructions are automatically included.

  1. Navigate to Services in the main menu.
  2. Select the specific Service or Activity you wish to manage and click the Edit (pencil) icon.
  3. Open the relevant template tab: Activity Roster Template (for Group Activities), Service Roster Template (for Accommodation), or Workforce Roster Template (for Workforce).
  4. Click Add Shift Template or edit an existing one.
  5. Locate the Notes field.
  6. Enter the task list or specific care instructions here.
  7. Click Save.

Note: These internal notes will appear on the shift details for the assigned employee.

Adding Tasks to a Single Live Shift

If you need to add a unique checklist to a specific shift that is already on the roster, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Rosters and select the appropriate roster type.
  2. Select the specific shift you wish to update.
  3. Click Select Action and choose Update Shift.
  4. Enter your care instructions or task list and click Update Shift.
