How to Track Vacancy Application Status.
Monitoring the progress of roles you have applied for.
When you express interest in a vacancy or bid for an open shift within Platform for Care, you can track the status of that request directly through your mobile app. This ensures you stay informed about whether your application is still pending, has been accepted by a coordinator, or has been filled by another staff member.
1. Locating Your Pending Requests
All active expressions of interest and shift bids are stored in a dedicated section of the mobile app for easy oversight.
- Open the Platform for Care mobile app.
- Navigate to the Vacancies or Shift Invitations menu.
- Tap on the Pending or My Requests tab. Here, you will see a list of all shifts you have applied for that have not yet been finalised by a coordinator.
2. Understanding Application Statuses
The status of your application will change as the rostering coordinator reviews the staff bidding for the shift.
- Requested/Pending: Your expression of interest has been received. The coordinator is currently reviewing all available staff and has not yet made a selection.
- Accepted/Assigned: You have been selected for the shift. The shift will automatically move from your Vacancy list into your Personal Roster, and you will likely receive a push notification or email confirmation.
- Filled/Unavailable: The shift has been assigned to another staff member. The request will disappear from your pending list.
- Cancelled: The coordinator has removed the vacancy (e.g., the client cancelled the service). The request will no longer appear in your list.
3. Reviewing Historical Requests
If you want to check the outcome of a vacancy you applied for in the past, you can filter your view.
- In the Vacancies menu, select the History or Completed filter.
- Review the list to see which shifts were successfully assigned to you and which were filled by others.
- Note: Shifts that were successfully assigned to you can also be viewed in your Timesheets section once they are worked and submitted.
Troubleshooting Status Issues
- Request Disappeared: If a pending request disappears, it typically means the shift was filled by another employee (first-in, first-served) or cancelled.
- No Notification: Ensure your Notification Preferences are set to alert you for "Shift Confirmations" so you know the moment a bid is successful.
- Accidental Bid: If you applied for a shift by mistake and it is still "Pending," contact your coordinator immediately to have your name removed from the bid list.
