Stay Secure And In The Know with Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on OncoreFlex
What is Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your OncoreFlex account.
In addition to your password, you’ll use an authenticator app on your phone to generate a one-time code whenever you log in.
Why is OncoreFlex implementing 2FA?
We’re implementing 2FA to protect your account and sensitive information better, and to align with best practice security standards, including ISO27001 certification.
How do I set up 2FA on my account?
Setting up 2FA is quick and easy:
- Download an authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator, Authy or Microsoft Authenticator).
- Log in to OncoreFlex.
- Go to My Profile > Security.
- Select Enable and scan the QR code displayed in your authentication app.
- Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app to complete set-up.
Important: You will also be provided a recovery code - save this code securely. It can be used if you lose access to your authenticator app.
What authenticator apps can I use?
You can use any standard authenticator app. Recommended options include:
- Google Authenticator
- Authy
- Microsoft Authenticator
All are available for free in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
When is the deadline to set up 2FA?
2FA must be enabled by 15th of July 2025.
After this date, 2FA will be required to log in to your OncoreFlex account.
What happens if I don’t enable 2FA before the deadline?
If 2FA isn’t set up by the 15th of July 2025, you won’t be able to access your OncoreFlex account. You can complete 2FA setup at any time to regain access.
What if I lose my phone or can’t access my authentication app?
If you lose your phone or can’t access your authenticator app, you have 2 options:
Use your recovery code:
- During 2FA setup, you were provided with a one-time recovery code.
- You can use this code instead of the authenticator app to log in.
If you don’t have your recovery code:
- Please contact Oncore Support.
- Our team will verify your identity and help reset your 2FA settings.
How do I use my recovery code?
When prompted for a 2FA code at login:
- Click the link that says Try another method instead of entering a code from your app.
- Click the Recovery code option
- Enter your recovery code and click continue
Important: You will be provided with a new recovery code - copy the code and save it securely.
Can I disable 2FA after setting it up?
Once 2FA is enforced across OncoreFlex, it is a required security feature and cannot be disabled manually. If you need assistance (e.g. switching to a new phone), please contact support for help reconfiguring your 2FA.
I’m having trouble scanning the QR code. What should I do?
If you are unable to scan the QR code:
- Ensure your phone’s camera has permissions enabled.
- Adjust the distance between your phone and the screen.
- Ensure your authenticator app is updated.
- Alternatively, most authenticator apps allow you to enter the secret key manually displayed underneath the QR code.
